Once again, it’s Member Monday here at Mortar Board! This week we’re highlighting our fearless leader, Nicole Stankovic! As Tolo Chapter President, Nicole has a lot on her plate organizing service events and ensuring our chapter goals are met. On top of all that, she serves as an officer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness at the UW, she’s a Research Assistant for UW Medicine’s Department of Orthopedics, AND she volunteers at Seattle Children’s Hospital and UW Med. With a major in piano performance and a minor in chemistry, it’s a lot to balance, but she does a great job of it!
With all these responsibilities, Nicole makes sure to prioritize her own health by cooking, reading, and spending time with friends to de-stress. You may find her at Cafe Solstice on the Ave drinking a seasonal latte and planning her next trip to Spain! After studying abroad there for a summer, she’s been keen to go back and take in the scenery, the people and of course, the food.
Someday in the future, you’ll probably see Dr. Nicole Stankovic around, or maybe playing at the grandest concert venues in the world–she’s already performed at Carnegie Hall, you know! No matter what, we’re so glad to have Nicole leading the Tolo Chapter into success in the UW community and beyond!
