The 2019-2020 application for the Mortar Board National Honor Society, Tolo Chapter will be available in February.
Mortar Board is a national college senior honor society whose goals are to foster a spirit of scholarship, to recognize and develop leadership skills, and to provide service to the university and to the community. Every year, various outstanding students are selected for membership in the Tolo Chapter of Mortar Board. Mortar Board is the oldest continuing honor society at the University of Washington, and being selected into its membership is one of the highest student honors.
The membership of Mortar Board is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who have excelled in their personal areas of interest. Consequently, the chapter encourages individuals with distinguished ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service to consider applying for membership in Mortar Board.
Membership in Mortar Board is an honor carrying a commitment. Members are expected to be active participants in the chapter but are welcomed to contribute in a way that’s most appropriate for their talents. Over 100 years of Mortar Board service on the University of Washington campus have shown our members that Mortar Board is a wonderfully rewarding experience and that the best way to foster such an experience is to commit time to the chapter.
