Treasurer Satchel appreciates UW Tolo’s diversity of interests

I’ve really enjoyed my time in Mortar Board, as it’s allowed me to keep my perspective open even as I get more specific in what I’m studying. The group is made up of very diverse members with differing passions and interests, but the common thread is that we all desire to do good in the world, despite our differences. As I’ve gotten more deep into my major-specific studies at UW, it has been more difficult to stay in contact with students from other majors, and it’s easy to end up talking to and seeing the same people every day. Mortar Board helps to prevent this, and ensure that I am surrounded and challenged by new opinions on a frequent basis.
